Mail

Nextcloud in your mail client

Four integrations, one per mail client. They all do the same two things: send an attachment as a Nextcloud share link, and integrate with Nextcloud Talk. Pick the one that matches the client your users open.

INTEGRATION

CLIENT

GOOD TO KNOW

Nextcloud for Outlook Classic

Classic Outlook for Windows

Desktop add-in, installed per machine or pushed with your usual deployment tooling. Works with an on-premises Nextcloud.

Nextcloud for Outlook

New Outlook, Windows, Mac, Outlook on the web and limited support for Outlook on Android and iOS

Web add-in, deployed centrally. Follows the user to any machine or browser they sign in on.

Nextcloud for Thunderbird

Thunderbird on Windows, macOS and Linux

Thunderbird extension. Oversized attachments are uploaded and replaced with a link as you send.

Nextcloud for Mac Mail

Apple Mail on macOS

For Mac users, so a mixed Windows and macOS office works the same way.

The same in all four

  • Attachment size limits stop applying, since the mail carries a link.

  • The file stays in your own Nextcloud. No third party copy.

  • Passwords, expiry dates and revoking access work as usual on those links.

  • Everything happens in the compose window, so there is nothing new to teach.

  • Nextcloud Talk integration. *Exception of Mac Mail
