How to Install Sendent for Outlook (Windows)

Prerequisites

Ensure that the Sendent server app is installed in your Nextcloud instance. You can find and install it from the Nextcloud App Store.

*= Older versions of Microsoft Outlook for Windows might also work but aren’t supported by Microsoft anymore. Therefore Sendent can’t guarantee that all functions will be functional.
**= Only in "classic Outlook" mode and not "new Outlook" mode.

Now that you have downloaded the installation file and ensured that the above requirements are met please proceed to install Sendent on your Windows PC as instructed below.

1. Navigate to the location of the installation file.

2. Click and open the correct installation file depending on whether your Outlook is a 32-bit or 64-bit version.

3. You'll get the first pop up window with a copyright warning. Click the Next button.

4. The next page includes the terms and conditions. Check the I Agree box and click Next button

5. Enter your Nextcloud server URL.

In one of the steps, it is possible to set a default URL for your Nextcloud server. This is an optional step and is not mandatory. Setting a default URL is especially convenient when you have multiple clients using the same Nextcloud server.

However, if you want to give the opportunity to the users to set individual URLs then you can leave this field blank.

6. Click the Next button.

Regardless of the chosen action in the previous step, the user has to perform a one-time login to connect Sendent to their Nextcloud server. If the administrator did not set a default URL during installation, a user can log out and connect to a different account. If a default URL has been set, the user will not be able to log out and change accounts.

7. When prompted, Click Yes to allow the app to make changes to your system

8. Sendent for Windows Outlook should now be successfully installed in your system

9. Click the Close button to close the window.10. If you had Outlook open on your PC, you need to restart it for Sendent to work. You should see the new Sendent ribbons when you click the New Email button to compose a new email.
