How to Customize Storage Paths (Share Files & Public Share, Secure Mail)

The Outlook add-in offers options to customize the file and folder paths it uses. It generates a separate folder for every user action, such as uploading files and sending emails. Each folder resides within the designated feature root folder (e.g., PathUploadFiles).

To customize the Storage Paths for Share Files, Public Share, and Secure Mail, you need to navigate to the Sendent for Outlook settings:

1. Log in to your Nextcloud instance as an administrator.

2. Click on your user avatar or name in the top right corner of the Nextcloud interface to open the user menu.

3. From the dropdown menu, select Administration settings.

4. Open Sendent settings by clicking the Sendent option from the sidebar menu.

5. Navigate to the group settings section and switch to Sendent for Outlook option.

6. For instance, you can customize the Path for Share and the Public Share fields under the Share Files and Public Share sections.

Please note that a path MUST always start with a /.

7. Similarly, you can also customize the Path for Secure Mail.

8. With these customization options, you can easily manage the storage locations for files shared via "Share Files," "Public Share," or "Secure Mail."

Default path configuration.

By default, the Sendent Outlook add-in names each folder based on the email subject. If there is no subject, it generates a unique identifier.

If the subject already exists, it appends a unique identifier to the subject. For example: My mail subject (<UID>).

Date addition setting.

The DateAddition setting is disabled by default. When enabled, the add-in appends the current date to the default path. For example, if the default path is "/TestGroup/Upload-Share/" and the date is May 1st, 2023, the add-in appends the date to the path as "/TestGroup/Upload-Share/2024-06-12/".

Group folders support.

The Outlook add-in now supports group folders, requiring the directory structure to match the group folder name precisely. For example, if the group folder is named "TestGroup," the path should be "/TestGroup/Outlook/UploadFiles."
